I finally got my live streaming equipment set back up so i can start streaming different video games with my friends again. I use an El Gato HD60s capture card to capture all my gameplay and audio. Then the capture card routs to my PC or Mac (depending on if im playing on Xbox, Switch, or PC) which is fed into Open Broadcast System. OBS is a really powerful program for live streaming games and theres a lot that can be done with it.
We stream live to two different platforms at the moment, Twitch and Mixer. Twitch is the classic website that everyone knows for live streaming, and Mixer is a relitivly new one owned by microsoft that has some really cool features that twitch doesn't , for example Co-Streaming. With Co-streaming, you can have 4 streams set up in one video feed. For example, if four of my friends and I are all in the same game of halo but each at our own houses, and we are all streaming, we can set up a Co-Stream so that all of our streams are collected into one video feed for the viewer to watch all of us at the same time.
Im able to stream to both Twitch and Mixer simultaneously using a program called Restream.io. That program is super useful and can stream up to 30 different websites at the same time all for free, and it’ll even collect the chat all into one place for convenience.
We try and stream at least 3 nights a week, and you can check out my streams (and if im not live my past streams and clips) with the links below!
