lowering the Celica GT-S

This past weekend I was extremely busy but, we lowered my friend Matt’s 2003 Toyota Celica GT-S. Matt bought lowering springs from Megan Racing to give the car a 2in drop in ride hight, and also stiffen up the suspension for better handling.

We started with the back of the car and had some issues getting the shock to compress far enough to put back the bump stops. (bump stops keep the top of the shock tower secured, and also give some protection from bottoming out on big bumps or pot holes) We ended up having to shave off some of the bump stops to get the new springs to fit properly and safely.

We were expecting the front of suspension to be a lot harder to work on due to the weight, but it was actually a breeze compared to the back and took no time at all.

Once we got it all finished, we lowered the car down and it looked amazing and drove even better.
